FS:Shin Etsu X23 and G751

Feb 25, 2004 update:

I have 50 G751 and 50 Z23-7762 tubes.

$5.00 each including free shipping within the US.

Worldwide shipping costs a bit extra based on destination... but it is not expensive.

PAYPAL INFO:

-vailchalet2 at aol.com for non credit card,

-blueskybasin at centurytel.net for credit card or overseas

...the Shin Etsu is in stock, and I will ship the same day

Thanks to all who participated, I sent $70 to TonyH already!

Thanks!

--======---

Blade posted in another thread that they need more people buying raffle tickets! There's only 1 week left to buy raffle tickets.

I think lots of people can find $5.00 in their PayPal account to help someone like TonyH.

TrollHunters has helped make it possible to have trading of computer gear within our online community of computer enthusiasts.

I feel that we can either be members of that community, or we can be freeloaders.

So please chip in and help a good guy get through recovering from an accident. I know its not much money, but I bet it sure helps to get support from the many people he's helped!

--===============--

OK, TonyH at pcabusers.net needs a bit of help after being injured in a car accident.

PCabusers have a raffle, ( sort of like the one Jungleman did to help out Tigsman ) !

Here's the link to the raffle:

http://www.pcabusers.com/forums/show...threadid=28554

I've decided to do something to help also.

I will raise the price per tube of the Shin Etsu I'm selling by $0.50 to $4.50 per tube.

[Shipping stays the same.]

I'll match the $0.50 per tube and send $1.00 per tube to TonyH.

I am also donating 5 tubes to the raffle, and I bought some tickets.

Coming back to the price increase...this will raise $146.00 which I will send to TonyH.

[$73.00 from me, and $73.00 from all of you who buy this batch of Shin Etsu]

[I have permission from Blade over at pcabusers.net to do this]

These guys have helped all of us with trolls and done a lot of work for free to help make trading safer. So lets help someone through a rough patch!

>>>Tony was test driving a car for his employeer and was hit by a dump truck. Tony was badly hurt. Also his employer, nor the driver of the dump truck, had any insurance.

Since he was unemployed during his recovery period and can now only work limited hours, Tony could use some help with living expenses. Plus he is getting zero help from any insurance. Raffle ticket are $5 each. You can buy as many as you want, increasing your chances and also helping Tony more.

You can help out a great guy, and in the process possibly win some cool prizes. <<<

-----=================------

I'm starting to think that the G751 is a really good choice for problem cores like Northbridges and GPU's....any chip where the surface of the chip is convex or convcave, or there is a problem with contact between the chip and the heatsink.

----------------------------

Shin Etsu's marking system

Red cappped syringe contains X23-7762

Blue cappped syringe contains G751

Another way to tell is by consistency:

-X23-7762 is more like grease and,

-G751 is a bit more like putty.

http://www.meetthegeeks.org look in hardware reviews, thermal compounds, 2002

http://www.ocprices.com/index.php?rev_id=128&cat_id=68

I keep reading reviews in which Shin Etsu G751 thermal compound runs cooler that Artic Silver 3 , or Ceramique...or any of the other good heatsink compounds.

I don't know if G751 is that much better, but I've got to try it.

G751 may be the best thermal compound ...and the trickiest to apply, and the hardest to find at a good price. The shipping costs as much as the 1 gram syringe.

Shipping will be included, so the cost will be $7.60 for a 1 gram syringe, and $4.00 each for additional 1 gram syringes.

Example [for non credit card PayPal and US address] :

1 gram Shin Etsu G751 = $7.60 delivered

2 grams Shin Etsu G751 = $11.60 delivered

[That beats the $12.82 for 1 gram, or $18.82 for 2 gram price that I found online.]

Credit card and overseas customers can email me at vailchalet2 at aol.com

email me and PayPal at vailchalet2 at aol.com

credit card PayPal at blueskybasin at centurytel.net

Nice stuff, has a longer burn in period that most reviews don't capitalize on. I saw one where they let each compound go for 5 days. First couple days this was right with AS3, but by the 5th day it was beating AS3 by almost 6 celsius. Tell me that isn't awesome performance!

I take very good care applying my thermal compounds. I put a very clean layer of AS3 on my core and rubbed some into the heatsink and all that good stuff....but I gotta say, this G751 beats AS3 by a good 3 degrees on stress and 1.5 to 2 degrees on idle (celsius).
I apply AS3 with a razor blade, but for the thicker G751 it was easier to use a credit card.
I applied it to the heatsink, which was far easier than applying it to the core. I scraped it back and forth with the card from all directions until it was a thin uniform layer with no air pockets. Then I slapped it all together and burned it in at 50c for a good nights rest.
So far, the G751 is 3 degrees better than AS3 in stressing and 2 degrees better at idle. I am taking temps every day after 30 mins Prime 95 and then 30 more minutes of idle.

Here are my results so far taken with my cpu fan at 3000 rpm on an ax-7 heatsink. Processor is a t-bred B 2100+ at 2.17GHz @ 1.75 vCore (core/case in Celsius):

AS3 after 3 weeks burn in time: Stress (50/32), Idle (42/31)
Shin Etsu G751 day 1: Stress (47/32), Idle (41/31)
Shin Etsu G751 day 2: Stress (46/31), Idle (40/31)

It is a toasty 78 degrees F in my upstairs bedroom, and I turned the fan down a little for testing.
I'll post more results day by day if it improves.

Thanks again for this great stuff!

Thats why I have to try it, and why I decided to do this group buy to help all the forum members get it for cheap!

I'll be taking a few grams as well, I need to see if I can find more people here who want it though so I can place a larger order.
Thanks for the good deal!
